Salary: $60,000 - $67,500 annually, depending on qualifications
Manages and oversees the Transit Operators and the daily operations
of the Transportation program of the Licking County Transit Board.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws
pertaining to public transportation. Identifies areas of
improvement and recommends changes to the General Manager.
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
Promotes and maintains positive and effective working
relationships. Maintain professional demeanor and appearance.
Ensures assignments are complete, provides training and evaluates
employee performance; receives and resolves employee issues
according to established guidelines along with General Manager;
approves timesheets and leave requests in the absence of the
General Manager; Assist with interviews and hires candidates for
employment. Actively involved in employee and/or labor
Performs a variety of administrative functions and customer service
support functions to ensure efficient operations of the County
transportation program. Makes administrative decisions on behalf of
the General Manager regarding Transit operators and the County
transportation program in his/her absence.
Monitors and oversees transit operators schedules.
Assists in development and establishment of office procedures and
policies to comply with local, state, and federal policies, rules
and regulations; ensures that established rules and regulations are
Responds to telephone requests and inquiries from the public,
clients, and/or Licking County agencies and refers to appropriate
party as necessary; responds to contracting agencies clients,
service coordinators and families.
Assists with scheduling requests; establishes efficient vehicle
routes and makes adjustments as appropriate; Assures drivers have
knowledge of their routes and mechanisms are in place to
communicate and educate route changes.
Recommend to the General Manager expansion of services or routes,
changes in schedules in order to improve passenger services and
meet expected standards and increase revenues, redesign of services
to better serve LCTB passengers and methods to improve coordination
of human service transportation services.
Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed pertaining to
the Drug and Alcohol program. Escorts transit operators for
testing. (Random, Post-accident, Reasonable Suspicion, etc.)
Assists with federal reporting of the Drug and Alcohol Program in
the absence of the General Manager.
Collaborates with General Manager to assure safety of all
passengers, drivers, staff and equipment; assures all remain
current on all safety related requirements (e.g. ADA, Drug and
Alcohol, DOT, CPR/FA, etc.); assures mechanisms are in place to
communicate, educate and update all LCTB staff on safety
Prepares schedules and organizes training needs and courses upon
Responsible for developing, communicating and educating contingency
plans for calamity days to LCTB and riders.
Conduct performance tests (ride-a-longs, road checks, etc.);
administer mystery rider program; records passenger and 2 of 3
contractor complaints, incidents and investigations; works in
partnership with the General Manager to ensure corrective actions
are taken to improve relations and services by following LCTB
Collaborates with General Manager on all LCTB operational matters;
Assists with State and Federal reviews.
Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety
standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position
and all agency safety procedures.
Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent
to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
