Manages professional medical staff in the provision of professional
medical services including Psychiatrists, Physicians, Advance
Practice Nurses, Nursing Supervisor, and internal medical
specialists. Assigns and coordinates work, provides guidance and
ensures work is completed in accordance with service and quality
standards. Regularly coaches and provides training to staff,
conducts annual performance evaluations, participates in hiring
process and makes hiring recommendations, interprets, applies and
enforces policy, administers disciplinary action as necessary in
accordance with policy, approves leaves, and performs other
management responsibilities within scope of delegated
Holds staff accountable for meeting position specific and
organization goals including client service goals, time to
documentation requirement, resolution of failed activities, service
limit adherence, completion of quality, accurate and complete
clinical records for each client, and other specified position or
organizational goals. Ensures there is no disruption in service in
the Medical Department in the event of staff absence.
Engages in a process of Peer Review of Physicians and Advance
Practice Nurses to ensure the appropriateness and quality of
medical care provided.
Coordinates activities related to the performance improvement
process which includes, but is not limited to, the Medical Peer
Review and initiates quality improvement interventions necessary as
a result of any findings.
Performs administrative and clinical responsibilities necessary for
ensuring that the department remains in compliance with required
certifying and funding entity requirements.
Attends, participates in, and facilitates regular Clinical Team
Provides direct client services. Ensures clients are served
professionally, and in accordance with generally accepted treatment
and prescribing standards.
Works collaboratively with other client service providers to
provide coordinated clinical care, and works collaboratively with
the medical communities of Licking and Knox Counties.
Initiates and supports efforts to promote wellness concepts,
including the integration of physical and behavioral health care to
improve health outcomes.
Represents the organization at various functions, as requested.
Maintains confidentiality of HIPAA and other confidential and
