Our Licensed Practical Nurses provide medical assistance to the clients served through NYAP including performing physical assessments and treating acute, minor illnesses as needed. Under the general supervision of the Regional Manager or designee, you will work closely with youth, family, foster parents, and community partners, providing health care, advocacy and support toward the ultimate goal of living safely and successfully in the community. Working at NYAP - Generous Paid-Time Off- Excellent Compensation - Healthcare Benefits for you and your family - Retirement Matching (401K) - Phone Allowance - Student Loan Repayment Assistance - CEU's and ongoing trainings/education Responsibilities ---Perform physical assessments on each client upon arrival and intake. ---Identify abnormal findings and notify the client's physician or consulting physicians. ---Assure the need for medical treatment for illnesses and/or injuries are being met. ---Assess minor illnesses and administer non-prescription medications per approved Standing Orders Policy. ---Schedule and coordinate examinations by the consulting physician for each child. ---Provide in-service training and continued education to staff on health-care related needs of adolescents, CPR, and First Aid. ---Maintain Red Cross CPR/First Aid Trainer's Certification. ---Available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8-6 and occasional Fridays. Minimum Qualifications ---Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with valid Ohio licensure. ---Nursing experience working with adolescents is preferred. ---Must be available for on-call phone consultations as needed. ---Must be able to maintain compliance with attending agency required training programs. ---Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs. ---Must have reliable transportation with a safe driving record. ---Must have a reliable, working telephone.
