Medical Director – Athens, OH Location: 55 Hospital Drive, Athens,

or Pediatric Critical Care Overview: Pediatrix Medical Group is
seeking an experienced and collaborative Pediatric Hospitalist
Medical Director to lead and oversee our dedicated team at Ohio
Health in Athens, Ohio. This leadership role offers the opportunity
to shape clinical excellence, foster a high-performance team, and
drive quality improvement initiatives within a renowned healthcare
environment. Key Responsibilities: Serve as Medical Director for a
team of three Pediatric Hospitalists, providing leadership,
mentorship, and strategic oversight. Oversee newborn nursery care,
supported by Pediatrix Neonatologists in NICU operations. Provide
24/7 on-call coverage on a round-and-go model, with calls managed
remotely from home to promote work-life balance. Perform pediatric
procedures such as circumcisions and oversee pediatric assessments
and treatments. Deliver expert pediatric consultations to the
Emergency Department, ensuring timely and accurate assessments,
recommendations, and treatment plans for pediatric patients.
Collaborate closely with Neonatologists and other pediatric
subspecialists to ensure integrated, high-quality patient care.
Actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
initiatives, clinical research, and initiatives aimed at enhancing
patient outcomes and clinical processes. Engage in ongoing
professional development and knowledge exchange through the
Pediatrix network, which includes over 400 NICUs and thousands of
providers nationwide. Qualifications: Board Certification in
Pediatrics or Pediatric Critical Care (must be current). Minimum of
3-5 years of pediatric hospitalist experience, with previous
leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated
ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and participate in quality
improvement activities. Excellent communication, organizational,
and leadership skills. Compassionate and patient-centered approach
to care. Eligibility for Ohio medical licensure and hospital
