Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a
high-acuity PCU position on a medical oncology telemetry unit,
requiring an OH or compact RN license and strong progressive care
skills. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in a hospital-based 36-bed
oncology telemetry unit with over 24 beds at a PCU level of care -
Patient population includes mostly adult medical oncology cases,
with rare pediatric patients - High-acuity progressive care and
some med surg cases - Patient ratios are 1:4-5 for med surg
telemetry and 1:3 for PCU patients - Specialized equipment includes
GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker
beds, continuous bladder irrigation, and PCA pumps - Schedule
includes day or night 12-hour shifts with variable weekend
requirements - Self-scheduling is available - First week is
dayshift orientation Monday to Friday, followed by a second week of
on-unit orientation with a preceptor - Floating may be required to
units of equivalent or lower acuity - Responsibilities include
caring for complex oncology and progressive care patients,
emphasizing infection prevention and fall safety - Team structure
supports new staff with a precepted orientation period - Must
comply with variable weekend shift and floating requirements -

- Dress code and additional onboarding requirements will be
provided upon assignment - First-time travelers will be considered
/n /n Requirements/n - Active OH or compact RN license required -
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS - Minimum of 2 years
high-acuity PCU experience required - Oncology experience preferred
but not required - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage a
wide range of clinical skills, including rapid response, blood
product administration, central and peripheral line care, feeding
tube management, tracheostomy management, and titration of cardiac
drips - Experience with GE telemetry system preferred - Previous
