Registered Nurse (RN) | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op Location: Columbus, OH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,125 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: PreOp/PACU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required; Level 1 trauma and outpatient experience preferred; Previous charge experience preferred; Patient ratio experience of 1:1 Description: Location: PreOp/PACU RN Shift rotates between closer and opener. Working hours are from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM and 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM. Call is included, with requirements of every third to fourth weekend. Two years of pre/postoperative experience is required. BLS certification is mandatory, while ACLS certification is preferred. Candidates with previous charge experience will be given preference. The patient ratio is 1:1. Unit provides care for patients recovering from various cardiac procedures. Interdisciplinary support is available from physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Daily census is 6 with a focus on adult patients. The unit handles pre/post cardiac OR procedures, including CABG, AAA repair, TAVR, and other vascular surgeries. Knowledge in accessing and managing ports, phlebotomy, and wound vacs is important. Experience in managing arterial lines, CVP, and recognizing and managing dysrhythmias is necessary. Cardiac arrest and CPR skills are essential, along with obtaining consent and reviewing history and physical for preoperative assessment. Emergency medications and IV vasopressors should be managed efficiently. Understanding and managing pain assessment and management protocols is required.
