Job Description UK King's Daughters is a 455-bed regional referral center in Ashland, Kentucky. We are part of the University of Kentucky Health system. We own 40 primary care clinics in outlying areas of Kentucky and Ohio which refer patients from a catchment area of about 750,000 people to our main campus for testing and treatment. In 2025, we completed a large construction project on campus, which gave us a brand-new ER, a new Imaging Department, and a new main entrance. Our Emergency Department sees more than 80,000 patients per year. We offer nearly all medical specialties with the exception of pediatric subspecialties and transplant surgery. We have an open position for a neurosurgeon to join two full-time neurosurgeons. The incoming physician will have a guaranteed salary of $900,000 for all three years of the initial contract and will be eligible for productivity bonuses based $100 per wRVU. The physician will also receive excellent benefits, including health, vision, dental and life insurance, paid malpractice coverage, long term disability, six weeks of vacation, one additional week and $5,000 for CME, 401k/403b retirement plans and a CAP retirement savings plan for physicians only. A signing bonus of $75,000 will be provided. Ashland, KY is a town of about 25,000 people, located along the Ohio River. We have a clean town with minimal traffic, a beautiful and very active performing arts theater, an indoor tennis center, a large downtown park, and boutique shopping. Our Tri-State region (Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia) is renowned for safe, family-friendly communities with an excellent cost of living. We also have some of the country's finest state parks that feature golf, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting and biking. We have four seasons, all of which are relatively mild. We are also a short drive to metro cities in Ohio (Cincinnati and Columbus) and Kentucky (Lexington and Louisville), and we are located about 20 minutes from Huntington, WV, the home of Marshall University. Additionally, about two hours away in West Virginia, there is excellent snow skiing and the New River Gorge National Park, which offers multiple outdoor activities such as whitewater rafting, rock climbing and hiking.
