Job Description:
Job Description UK King's Daughters is a 455-bed regional
referral center in Ashland, Kentucky. We are part of the University
of Kentucky Health system. We own 40 primary care clinics in
outlying areas of Kentucky and Ohio which refer patients from a
catchment area of about 750,000 people to our main campus for
testing and treatment. In 2025, we completed a $150 million
construction project, which gave us a new main entrance, a
brand-new ER, and an all-new Imaging Department. Our Emergency
Department sees more than 80,000 patients per year. We offer nearly
all medical specialties at our facility, except pediatric
subspecialties and transplant surgery. We are offering an
outstanding opportunity for a board eligible/certified Orthopedic
Surgeon with a Hand Surgery fellowship who will join our orthopedic
surgery group and share call with six other orthopedic surgeons in
our hospital-employed practice. The incoming physician will earn a
competitive salary guarantee of $750,000, plus productivity bonuses
based on wRVUs and quality/customer bonuses. We provide excellent
benefits, including health, vision, dental, life and disability
insurance, paid malpractice, six weeks of vacation and a week off
for CME (plus a $5,000 CME allowance). A signing bonus of $75,000
and student loan repayment of $75,000 are available as well.
Ashland, KY is a town with a population of about 25,000 people,
located along the Ohio River. We have a clean town with minimal
traffic, a beautiful and very active performing arts theater, an
indoor tennis center, a large downtown park, and boutique shopping.
Our Tri-State region (Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia) is renowned
for safe, family-friendly communities with an excellent cost of
living. We also have some of the country's finest state parks and
other outdoor areas that feature golf, skiing, boating, fishing,
hunting and biking. We have four seasons, all of which are
relatively mild. We are also a short drive to metro cities in Ohio
(Cincinnati and Columbus) and Kentucky (Lexington and Louisville).
And we are located about 20 minutes from Huntington, WV, the home
of Marshall University. Additionally, about two hours away in West
Virginia, there is excellent snow skiing and the New River Gorge
National Park, which offers multiple outdoor activities such as
whitewater rafting, rock climbing and hiking.
