What You ll Do

• Provide OB/GYN hospital coverage primarily focused on Labor and Delivery (laborist model, 90% L&D)
• Manage routine and complicated deliveries, including C-sections and VBACs
• Perform or assist with key high-risk OB decision-making and procedures (as applicable to role)
• Provide FHR interpretation (e.g., NST/CST/FSE) and support appropriate monitoring
• Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds (including viability/screening as required)
• Support Gynecology surgical coverage, including operative/non-major and specified procedures
• Document care in the facility EPIC system

What You Need
Required

• Obstetrics/Gynecology credentials sufficient for credentialing (credentialing timeframe days)
• Ability to start as soon as credentialed (coverage windows listed above)

Preferred

• Prior experience with Labor & Delivery laborist coverage
• Experience with procedures listed in the assignment (routine/complicated deliveries, C-sections/decision-making, FHR interpretation, and specified GYN procedures)
• Familiarity working with EPIC (not required, but helpful)

About the Assignment
This locum opportunity supports a hospital OB/GYN service at Springfield Regional Medical Center (OB/GYN) with coverage for laborist-style, in-house 24-hour shifts. Coverage is primarily Labor & Delivery, with a mix of low-risk ( 60%) and high-risk ( 40%) pregnancy cases, plus defined GYN coverage needs (about 60% of practice). The facility supports a call ratio currently noted as 1:4, uses EPIC, and has L&D nurses and midwives available (midwife onsite coverage may vary by shift).

Travel reimbursement/caps (when applicable): flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage billed at the IRS standard rate; travel caps to be $150/night lodging and standard/economy bookings.
