Operate a tractor-trailer or flatbed safely and efficiently to transport goods and material as assigned or directed. Ensure timely delivery of freight as per the company’s schedules and client demands, adhering to routing instructions. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe working conditions, and report maintenance issues to the appropriate manager. Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules. Document and log work/rest periods, fuel expenditure, mileage, and load information. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and operations staff to report any incidents or discrepancies, and update the status of assignments. Maintain a positive and professional attitude with clients and customers. Proven ability to operate tractor-trailer or similar heavy vehicles. Strong time management and route management skills. Effective communication abilities for maintaining professional relations with clients. Knowledge of electronic logging devices and transportation management software.
