Position Summary: The Material Handler position is responsible for the handling and storage of raw materials and finished goods. Responsibilities: Safe operation of a lift truck in both warehouse and production areasLoading, unloading, storage and movement of materials through warehouse and/or production areasPerforms all required scanning functions required for the movement of raw materials and finished goods using RF Scanning deviceResponsible for the accuracy of all transactions and material scanningVerify the quality of the material meets customer expectationsReviews production schedule to determine what product is running and ensures that proper material are available at the start and throughout the shiftMonitors for the quality of raw materialsImmediately notifies Team Leader if there are reoccurring production or quality problemsMaintain clean and orderly plant and warehouseAdheres to all instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices and Total Productive ManufacturingAttends all required training sessions and team meetingsRemoval of all line scrap from production areaResponsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate actionPerforms all other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Team oriented and self-motivatedHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentMust have flexibility of job assignmentsAbility to follow verbal and written work instructionsPrevious forklift experience and proof of previous certification a plusPrevious RF/scanning/bar-coding experience preferredBasic computer skillsWork overtime as necessary, based on production needs/demandsRegularly stand or sit for long periods of time, up to 12 hours at a time.Ability to lift 50 poundsBend, lift, and move around facility as neededAbility to get on and off of forkliftsGood vision Why should you apply?
