As a COTA in our hospitals you will be working along side with highly skilled rehabilitation staff and assist a trained critical care nursing team. You will be taking care of patients that truly needs you; to get weaned off of respirators, walk on their own and regain the full use of their other functions. Select Specialty and Regency Hospitals care for patients who are critically ill and need extended acute hospitalization for their recovery. We are currently seeking Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for both full-time and PRN shifts. We offer an exceptional employee experience, an environment dedicated to safety and quality, ongoing educational and skill building resources and advancement opportunities.Why work for Select Specialty/Regency Hospital?* Reporting directly to the Occupational Therapist you will build your career with an established, highly successful organization in a caring and compassionate environment.* Our COTAs will be treating patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses.* Develop specialized skills to manage chronically critically ill patients.* Utilize all of your skills on a daily basis.* Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, consisting of registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, speech language pathologists and physicians to assist patients regain their independence.* Develop relationships with patients and their families..ResponsibilitiesAs a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will provide services under the general supervision of the OT, including assessment, treating patients, delivering home programs, patient and family instruction, participating in team conferences and documenting services according to departmental and facility standards.Other responsibilities of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position include:* Conducts Individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT).* Monitors patient's response to treatment and modifies treatment during sessions as indicated in collaboration with an OT* Participates in the team process, consults and collaborates with team members and staff* Completes appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.* Ensures documentation of progress notes and daily notes are completed within given timeframe* Participates in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-servicesQualificationsAs a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you must be able to deliver superior quality in all that you do.
