his position safely performs various multi-craft maintenance duties. This includes tasks to troubleshoot, repair and maintain machines, facilities and equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely responds to, diagnoses, repairs and resolves a variety of multi-craft maintenance needs for production machinery, support equipment and general facility essentials.Troubleshoots the situation, determines root cause of the problem and best options for repair or modification and follows through.Applies machine tool alignments to adjust equipment or instrumentation as needed to ensure accuracy.Partners with production personnel to fully understand technical situations and best options to pursue. Performs routine preventative maintenance on machinery including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts as required. Uses or operates manual and powered tools and equipment, such as lifts and welding equipment, to safely perform work.Uses, creates or completes required documentation supporting scheduled or completed work. This may include reading standard blueprints to ensure correct machine installation/operation. May draw simple schematics for work planning or records. This may also include using company computer systems to determine work to be performed and to log completed work. Records parts and materials used, and requisitions new materials/parts as necessary. Follows work orders as required.Participates in machine tool repairs, rebuilds and other maintenance work to insure quality maintenance operations. Participates in the set-up and installation of new production machinery, including CNC equipment. Performs required testing to ensure repairs/installations work as designed. Participates in other special maintenance or repair projects as assigned. Participates in small group improvement activities and may take responsibility for team assignments. May track metrics and other analytical information for team performance. Actively makes suggestions for process improvements using lean manufacturing concepts and ISO requirements. Presents information to others as necessary. Works to support the daily schedule on a regular basis including working overtime as necessary.Ensures communication to the following shift of job status and/or problems that have occurred. Acts as a resource to others and trains others on a one-on-one basis as necessary with supervision. Provides feedback and guidance to others within work area. Performs maintenance to company facilities including routine plumbing repairs, carpentry, electrical repairs, and routine maintenance to HVAC equipment.Follows established safety rules and regulations, makes recommendations for safety improvements, and utilizes required safety equipment. Participates in the training of others on appropriate safety related topics such as lock out/tag out and confined space.Stays up-to-date on current maintenance and mechanical repair technologies. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 3 years industrial or mechanical maintenance installing/setting-up production machinery.Requires experience working hand and power tools.Prefers previous experience with programmable controls. Prefers welding, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC or other facility maintenance experience. Prefers experience with cranes, tow motors, forklifts, and genie booms. Apply multi-craft maintenance skills and knowledge of machining/manufacturing equipment/processes. Assemble/install/troubleshoot/maintain standard mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Install/maintain electrical systems/electronics such as transformers, controls, and servo drives.Knowledge and understanding of programmable controls. Able to read blueprints, specifications and electrical schematics. Uses basic shop math. Basic computer, communication, and customer service skills. Basic understanding of quality systems, lean manufacturing, and safety procedures. Prefers ability to maintain facility carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC equipment.
