Job Description:
Manages specified book of business with primary responsibility
for fully-insured clients. Responds, researches, and resolves
customer inquiries in a timely manner. Contributes to membership
growth through planning, pre-renewal meetings, and execution of
open-enrollment activities. Formal Education Required: Bachelor
Degree or may substitute with four years’ experience Experience &
Training Required: Three (3) years performing same or similar
responsibilities. Relevant experience includes: managing and
servicing accounts within a broker agency or a healthcare
organization, coordination of open enrollment activities,
premium/rate development, and working knowledge of insurance
products and benefit plan designs. Essential Functions: 1. Works
collaboratively with Senior Account Executives (SAE’s) to
understand, develop, and implement account management strategy for
assigned book of business, to include face to face interaction with
clients for forecasting, collection, and understanding of critical
account information about the changing environment and competition.
2. Oversees day-to-day resolution of complaints and inquiries in
timely manner, and communicates throughout the company accordingly.
3. Manages, services, and nurtures assigned book of business to
gain the highest levels of group retention, profitability, and
growth, through group renewals and open enrollment activities.
Monitors accounts to identify early indications of risks and
opportunities. Understands when issues pose an urgent threat to
business. 4. Establishes and maintains key relationships with
employers, brokers, and consultants. Consults with front-line
benefits contacts to demonstrate value and build commitment to
SummaCare. Entertains key accounts, brokers, and consultants, to
ensure open lines of communication and build client loyalty.
Invites management members to events, as appropriate. 5. Manages
group renewal process including strategizing on plans to be
presented, generation of renewal rates, account presentation, and
negotiation of renewal rates. Manages open enrollment to a
targeted, measured level of group retention, profitability, and
customer satisfaction. 6. Coordinates with Underwriting and
Management to provide accurate group data such as contribution
strategy, alternative carrier benefit plan designs and rate, and
other pertinent information. 7. Masters requirements of selling and
servicing large accounts that switch from fully-funded to
self-funded status, including the consultative presentation of the
admin. fee, reinsurance premium, reporting options, and performance
guarantees. 8. Works collaboratively with SAE’s to achieve target
goals via installation of new accounts, team sales presentations,
open enrollment assistance, and ensuring necessary forms and
contracts are submitted. Delivers and presents group administration
kits to new accounts. 9. Collects group data, and enters into
database, using information to up-sell ancillary products and
services including life, dental, vision and flexible spending
accounts, to achieve required production levels. 10. Prepares
biweekly or monthly call reports and renewal reports for review by
management. 11. Performs all job functions with integrity. Provides
timely internal and external customer service in cooperative,
professional, and respectful manner. 3.Other Skills, Competencies
and Qualifications: a.Effectively use Word, Excel, Outlook, and
PowerPoint, to facilitate performance of essential job functions.
b.Exercise judgment in renewal strategies, working to maintain and
achieve profitability and growth within book of business.
c.Maintain current knowledge of methodology behind experience rated
renewals. d.Assess factors such as client company’s primary
objectives and needs to develop appropriate and competitive
proposals. e.Organize and manage time to accurately complete tasks
within designated time frames in fast-paced environment. f.Maintain
current knowledge of and comply with regulatory and company
policies & procedures. g.Maintain confidentiality of member health
and business information. h.Flexible: ability to adjust work hours
to meet business demands. 4.Level of Physical Demands: a.Medium:
Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds
of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force
